The Ozark Dressage Society Youth Education Fund is being established to assist youth, under the age of 21, pursue continuing education in the sport of Dressage. The scholarships may be used for clinics, symposiums, and other educational programs sponsored by the Ozark Dressage Society. This fund may also be used to underwrite clinics/symposiums/educational programs for the youth sponsored by the Ozark Dressage Society.
All contributions and disbursements shall be made in accordance with the provisions specified in this document. All contributions designated for this Fund shall be credited to the Ozark Dressage Society Youth Education Fund. The Board of Directors of the Ozark Dressage Society, or its designee, has full power and authority to hold, manage, invest and reinvest any principal, and any increase or accumulation to it, and any income from it, consistent with the management policies of the Board of Directors or its designee.
This Fund shall be used to provide scholarships to support youth who meet the following criteria. 1) Are under the age of 21; 2) Are interested in expanding their knowledge of Dressage; 3) Are located in the ODS GMO area which includes SW Missouri, NW Arkansas, NE Oklahoma, and SE Kansas and 3) entered in a ODS sponsored clinic, symposium, or educational program. Scholarship recipients and the amount to be received will be determined by the Ozark Dressage Society Board of Directors. Recipients will receive a scholarship certificate for the designated clinic as well as a one year membership in the Ozark Dressage Society. Applicants must complete the application for the scholarship and a short essay about what their equestrian goals are and how they would benefit from participating in the clinic/symposium/educational activity. Applications must be submitted no later than 6 weeks prior to the event date.
If, at some future date, circumstances within the Ozark Dressage Society should change so that the uses and purposes for which this Fund has been established should cease to exist or that the Ozark Dressage Society is disbanded, then the Fund will donate the monies contained within the Fund to the Dressage Foundation, Omaha, NE.
