Alexandra Mueller, Westwind Farm Training Center
Westwind Farm is located in Mount Vernon, Missouri, just minutes from Springfield, and is a professionally run horse facility offering the best in care, training and lessons. We specialize in beginning riders and horse training, as well as boarding. We offer all-weather riding and training in our indoor and outdoor arenas, and stall boarding with direct inside access to the indoor arena.
Westwind Farm moved to Mount Vernon at the end of 2005 from Arizona, and we brought over 50 years of expeerience, along with our wonderful schooling and show horses, and our desire to bring our best training and teaching to horses and their riders. Horses, and the people who love them, are the heart of Westwind Farm. They are our reason to be here; to be caretakers and teachers.
For more information on our facility, our training programs, and our trainers, please see our web-site at: www.wftc.us. Or call us at: 417-466-9300.

I teach riders at all levels, from beginners to Grand Prix riders. I have amateurs as well as professionals in my client base. I was awarded the top level certification rating (IBA) from the American Riding Instructors Certification Program in 1985, and have maintained my certification since that time. I believe in the classical principles of the mental and physical development of the horse and rider as a team, and I focus on the importance of the correct seat, the timing of the aids, and the harmonious relationship of the horse and rider. I have produced National Award winners at all levels of Dressage since 1964.

I started riding at age 8 in Germany, I did my first “Reiterabzeichen” at age 12, trained and competed several different horses in Germany, from starting youngsters to those trained up to Prix St. George until 1991 when I moved to the USA. Over the years I established Crownhillfarm and qualified several horses to the Regionals over the years. In 2004 I joined Taura Training Center as the Head Trainer. With some of our goals being to expand our client base, and taking horses in on training in several different displines, showing the equine community that using dressage as the basis for improvement. As the dressage riders who train with me have continued to enjoy great success.
I’ve had the added enjoyment of seeing USEA students and Pony Clubbers having nothing less than what they say is phenomenal results.
Laura Alms and I have the added goal of breeding and traing horses, and sport ponies in the states that make it unnecessary to go to Europe to find appropriate horses for our expanding client base.
